ANALYSIS
As the intrinsic relationship between theory, analysis and design will be addressed in each publication, the ‘analysis’ part presents the research that implements the theoretical concepts and starts the process towards formulating the basic issues the design intends to address. The methodological set-up of the spatial analysis is of particular interest here, as this will determine to a large extent the to-be-proposed architectural intervention. In this case, through a series of mappings the spatial, territorial, logistical, and material aspects of three key zonefacts and their inter-realations are investigated and established: an antenna array and underground bunker in Ancon Hill, a former communication hub and current submarine Cable Landing Point in Corozal on the eastern shore of the Pacific Approach to the Panama Canal and a satellite ground station in Utivé, some 33 kilometres east of the hill.
