Banality of Death

As the intrinsic relationship between theory, analysis and design will be addressed in each publication, the ‘design’ part will present the architectural intervention proposal, which is based on the theoretical premises and the (in)direct result of the findings and insights the spatial analysis offered. The three conceptual complexity drawings form the basis for the design of a playscape, a washing station, and a viewing tower respectively. The rest stops offer the space for the living to interact and thus relate to death, the presence of which should assist in the shift towards the ‘banal’, i.e. the experience of the quotidian.
